ශ්රී ලංකා පරිපාලන ස්වයේ ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ නිළධාරියෙකු වන සුනිල් ගලගම මහතා, සර්ව ආගමික වතාවත්වල නිරත වී ආශිර්වාද ලබා ගැනීමෙන් අනතුරුව බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම්/දිසාපති ලෙස 2026.03.13 දින බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් කාර්යාලයේදී වැඩ ආරම්භ කරනු ලැබීය.
2000 වසරේදී ශ්රී ලංකා පරිපාලන සේවයට එක් වූ සුනිල් ගලගම මහතා, විදේශ සම්පත් දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ සහකාර අධ්යක්ෂ ලෙස රාජකාරිය ආරම්භ කොට තිබේ.
අනතුරුව, නීතිය හා සාමය පිළිබඳ අමාත්යාංශයේ සහකාර ලේකම්, ආගමන හා විගමන දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ නියෝජ්ය පාලක, අබුඩාබි තානාපති කාර්යාලෙයේ නියෝජ්ය තානාපති, ශ්රී ලංකා සංවර්ධන පරිපාලන ආයතනයේ උපදේශක, කොළඹ අතිරේක දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම්, පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේ ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ සහකාර ලේකම්, කොළඹ මහ නගර සභාවේ නාගරික ලේකම්, දෙහිවල ගල්කිස්ස නගර සභාවේ නාගරික කොමසාරිස්, රාජ්ය ව්යාපාර දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ අතිරේක අධ්යක්ෂ ජනරාල්, පොහොර රාජ්ය අමාත්යායේ අතිරේක ලේකම් (පාලන), ආයෝජන ප්රවර්ධන අමාත්යාංශයේ අතිරේක ලේකම් (සංවර්ධන) ආදී තනතුරු රාශියක් හොබවා තිබේ.
බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් ලෙස වැඩ බාර ගැනීමට පෙර ඒ මහතා සෞඛ්ය හා ජනමාධ්ය අමාත්යාංශයේ අතිරේක ලේකම් (සංවර්ධන) ලෙස රාජකාරී ඉටු කරන ලදි.

වසර තුනකට ආසන්න කාලයක් බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් ලෙස බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික්කයට ඉමහත් සේවයක් ඉටු කළ පණ්ඩුක ශ්රී ප්රභාත් අබේවර්ධන මහතා 2026.03.10 දින ස්ථාන මාරු ලැබ යාම වෙනුවෙන් දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් කාර්යාලීය නිලධාරීන් විසින් සමු ගැනීමේ උත්සවයක් සංවිධානය කර තිබුණි.

2026.01.15 දිනට යෙදෙන තෛපොංගල් දිනය නිමිත්තෙන් වේවැස්ස ආරක්ෂක මධ්යස්ථානයේ තෛපොංගල් උත්සවයක් සංවිධානය කරන ලදී. සුළි කුණාටුවෙන් පීඩාවට පත් පවුල් 28 ක සාමාජිකයින් 87 දෙනෙකු ආරක්ෂක මධ්යස්ථානයේ නවාතැන් ගෙන සිටින අතර, ඔවුන් සියලු දෙනාගේම සහභාගීත්වයෙන් මෙම සැමරුම පැවැත්විණි.
මෙම අවස්ථාවට එක් වූ බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් ප්රභාත් අබේවර්ධන මහතා පැවසුවේ, "දිට්වා සුළි කුණාටුව හේතුවෙන් ඔබට කිසියම් ව්යසනයක් සිදු වුවද, මේ මොහොතේ සියලු දෙනාටම සමගියෙන් තෛපොංගල් සැමරීමට හැකි වී තිබේ. එබැවින්, ඒ ගැන සිතා බලා සතුටු වන්න. අපට කුමන කරදරයක් හෝ බාධාවක් එල්ල වුවද, අපි එය අභියෝගයක් ලෙස පිළිගෙන වෙහෙස මහන්සි වී වැඩ කළ යුතුය. මෙම වසරේ ආරක්ෂක මධ්යස්ථානයේ තෛපොංගල් උත්සවය සමරනු ලැබුවද, ඉදිරි වසර 2027 දී ඔබ වෙනුවෙන් ඉදිකරන ලද නව නිවසක තෛපොංගල් සැමරීමට අපට හැකි වනු ඇතැයි මම බලාපොරොත්තු වෙමි." ඒ සඳහා අපි සියලු දෙනාම එක්ව කටයුතු කරමු.
බදුල්ල පරිපාලන ග්රාම නිලධාරී ආරියවංශ, ඌව ශක්ති පදනමේ නඩේසන් සුරේෂ්, රාජ්ය නොවන සංවිධාන සම්බන්ධීකාරක හේමන්ත මංගල ඇතුළු පිරිසක් මෙම අවස්ථාවට එක්ව සිටියහ.

බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් කාර්යාලයේ අතිරේක දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් (පාලන) ලෙස, ඩබ්ලිව් .එම්. චමින්ද වීරසිංහ මහතා අද (01) දින වැඩ භාර ගනු ලැබීය. මීට පෙර හාලිඇල ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම් ධූරය හෙබවූ ඒ මහතා 2009 වසරේ ශ්රී ලංකා පරිපාලන සේවයට එක් විය. වීරසිංහ මහතා වැලිමඩ සහකාර ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම් ලෙසත්, බදුල්ල සහකාර දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් ලෙසත්, වැලිමඩ ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම් ලෙසත් කාර්යශූර නිලධාරියෙකු ලෙස සේවය කළේ ය. දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් කාර්යාලය - බදුල්ල.

දැයේ සංවර්ධනයට උරදුන් ජනතාවගේ වියපත් දිවිය සමාජ ආරක්ෂණයෙන් ආරක්ෂා කරමින් රාජ්ය විශ්රාම වැටුප් ප්රතිලාභ අත්කර දීම සදහා ශ්රී ලංකා සමාජ ආරක්ෂණ මණ්ඩලය 1996 වසරේ සිට ක්රියාත්මකවන රාජ්ය ව්යවස්ථාපිත ආයතනයකි.
දිවයිනේ සියලුම දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් කාර්යාල හා ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාල මගින් මෙම වැඩසටහන ක්රියාවට නංවමින් ජනතාව දැනුවත් කරමින්, සාමාජික කරගැනීම් හා ප්රතිලාභ ගෙවීම් වැනි කාර්යන් සිදු කරයි.
බදුල්ල හා මොණරාගල දිස්ත්රික්කවල 2023 හා 2024 වර්ෂවල ප්රධාන රාජකාරියට අමතර රාජකාරියක් ලෙස සළකා, යැපීම් මානසිකත්වයට හුරු වී සිටින බහුතරයක් ප්රජාව, දායකත්ව විශ්රාම වැටුප් ප්රතිලාභ ක්රමයකට යොමු කර ගැනීමට කැපවී කටයුතු කල රාජ්ය නිලධාරීන්ගේ සේවය ඇගයීමේ උත්සවයක් 2025.10.14 දින බදුල්ල සයිමන් පීරිස් නගර ශාලාවේ දී උත්කර්ශවත් අයුරින් පැවැත්විය.
එහි දී, වැඩිම වාර්ෂික බදවා ගැනීම් ප්රමාණයන් හා මුල්ය වටිනාකම් අනුව ඉලක්ක සම්පූර්ණ කළ, දිස්ත්රික් මට්ටමේ ජයග්රහණ හා ජාතික මට්ටමේ ජයග්රහණ හිමිකරගත් නිලධාරීන් 162 දෙනෙකු ඇගයීමට ලක් කෙරිණි.
2023 වර්ෂයේ මූල්ය අංශය යටතේ දිස්ත්රික් ප්රථමස්ථානය,දෙවන ස්ථානය හා තෙවන ස්ථානය පිළිවෙලින් මීගහකිවුල, හාලිඇල හා පස්සර ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම් කොට්ඨාස හිමිකර ගැනීමට සමත් විය.
2024 වර්ෂයේ මුල්ය අංශය යටතේ දිස්ත්රික් ප්රථමස්ථානය, දෙවන ස්ථානය හා තෙවන ස්ථානය පිළිවෙලින් හාලිඇල, වැලිමඩ හා පස්සර ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම් කොට්ඨාසය දිනාගැනීමට සමත් වූ අතර ලද හාදිවයිනේ වැඩිම බදවාගැනීම් සිදුකල ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම් කොට්ඨාස අතුරින් තෙවන ස්ථානය හිමිකරගනිමින් ජාතික මට්ටමේ ජයග්රහණයක් අත්පත් කර ගැනීමට වැලිමඩ ප්රදේශීය ලේකම් කොට්ඨාසය සමත් විය.
2024 වර්ෂයේ බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික්කය බදවාගැනීම් ප්රමාණය අනුව දිවයිනේ තෙවන ස්ථානය හා මූල්ය වටිනාකම් අනුව දිවයිනේ දෙවන ස්ථාන හිමිකර ගනිමින් ජාතික මට්ටමේ ජයග්රහණ දෙකක් අත්කර ගැනීමට සමත්වීම විශේෂත්වයකි.
මෙම ඇගයීම උත්සවය සදහා බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් පණ්ඩුක ශ්රී ප්රභාත් අබේවර්ධන මහතා, ශ්රී ලංකා සමාජ ආරක්ෂණ මණ්ඩලයේ සභාපති එම්.කේ.බී.දිසානායක මහතා, බදුල්ල නගරාධිපති නන්දන හපුගොඩ මහතා හා ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම්වරුන් ,සහකාර ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම්වරුන් ඇතුළු රාජ්ය නිලධාරීන් රැසක් මීට සහභාගී විය .

බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් කාර්යාලය හා දිස්ත්රික් වැඩිහිටි බල මණ්ඩලය එක්ව ජාත්යන්තර වැඩිහිටි දිනයට සමගාමීව පැවැත්වූ “ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ පුරවැසි අභිනන්දන” දිස්ත්රික් වැඩිහිටි උත්සවය පසුගියදා 2025.10.21 බදුල්ල සයිමන් පීරිස් නගර ශාලාවේ දී බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් ප්රභාත් අබේවර්ධන මහතාගේ ප්රධානත්වයෙන් පැවැත්විණි.
බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික්කයේ වැඩිහිටි බල මණ්ඩල 15 හි ජ්යෙෂ්ඨ පුරවැසියන් 300 කගේ පමණ සහභාගීත්වයෙන් පැවති මෙම උත්සවයේදී දරුවන් වැඩිම පිරිසක් දැයට දායාද කළ මව්වරුන් හා සියවස සැපිරෑ මව්පියවරුන් ඇගයීමද මෙහිදී සිදු කෙරුණි.
දිස්ත්රික්කයේ වැඩිහිටි ප්රජාවගේ කායික හා මානසික සුවතාවය ඇති කිරීම හා ඔවුන්ගේ කලා හැකියාවන් වර්ධනය කිරීමේ අරමුණින් මෙම උත්සවය පැවැත්විණි.
බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික් වැඩිහිටි හිමිකම් ප්රවර්ධන නිළධාරී සන්ද්යා කුමාරි මහත්මිය හා දිස්ත්රික් වැඩිහිටි බල මණ්ඩලයේ සභාපති ඩබ්. එම්. දිසානායක මහතා විසින් මෙම වැඩසටහන සම්බන්ධීකරණය කර තිබුණු අතර මෙම වැඩසටහන සඳහා සහකාර දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් ඇතුළු නිලධාරීන් පිරිසක් එක්ව සිටියහ.

නිරන්තර ආපදාවට ලක්වන දිස්ත්රික්කයක් ලෙස බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික්කයේ හදිසි ආපදා තත්ව ප්රතිචාර සඳහා පූර්ව සූදානම හා සම්බන්ධීකරණය තවදුරටත් ශක්තිමත් කිරීම සෙවීම් හා මුදවා ගැනීම් කාර්ය හැකියාවන් දියුණු කර ජීවිත බේරා ගැනීමේ අරමුණින් ආපදා කළමනාකරණ මධ්යස්ථානය හා බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් කාර්යාලය එක්ව බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික්කයේ සියලු රාජ්ය ආයතන සම්බන්ධ කරගනිමින් ඇල්ල නගරය ආසන්නව මෙම පූර්ව සූදානම් පෙරහුරුවක් 2025.10.16 දින පැවැත්විණි.
මෙම පෙරහුරු අවස්ථාවට බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් ප්රභාත් අබේවර්ධන, ඌව පළාත් ආණ්ඩුකාරවර නිතිඥ කපිල ජයසේකර, ඇල්ල ප්රදේශිය ලේකම්, බදුල්ල මහ නගර සභාව, 112, බලසේනා මූලස්ථානය නියෝජනය කරමින් නිළධාරින්, යුධ හමුදා කඳවුර එළදළුව, පොලිස් ස්ථානය බදුල්ල, ප්රාදේශිය සභාව, 1990 ජාතික හදිසි ගිලන්රථ සේවය, බදුල්ල ශික්ෂණ රෝහල හා මුදවා ගැනිම් කණ්ඩායම් වල සහයෝගය ලැබුණි.

හාලි ඇළ මොරගොල්ල නව නිවාස ව්යාපෘතිය සඳහා මුල්ගල් තැබීම 2025.10.13 වන දින උදෑසන හාලි ඇළ ප්රාදේශීය සභාවේ සභාපති ප්රියන්ත වරුසමන මහතාගේ ප්රධානත්වයෙන් සිදු කරන ලදී.
2011 දී මොරගොල්ලවත්ත නායයෑමෙන් අවතැන් වූ පවුල් සඳහා මෙම නිවාස ව්යාපෘතිය ක්රියාත්මක වන අතර ඉදිකරනු ලබන නිවාස සංඛ්යාව 54 කි.
වැවිලි හා ප්රජා යටිතල පහසුකම් අමාත්යාංශයෙන් රුපියල් මිලියන 164 ක ප්රතිපාදන යටතේ මෙම ව්යාපෘතිය ක්රියාත්මක වේ. නිවාස 54 ක් සඳහා රුපියල් මිලියන 142 ක් සහ විදුලිය, ජලය සහ මාර්ග ඇතුළු යටිතල පහසුකම් සංවර්ධනය සඳහා රුපියල් මිලියන 22 ක් වැය කෙරේ.
වත්මන් රජයේ "සමෘද්ධිමත් රටක්, සුන්දර ජීවිතයක්" ගොඩනැගීමේ අරමුණින්, වැවිලි හා ප්රජා යටිතල පහසුකම් අමාත්ය සමන්ත විද්යාරත්න මහතාගේ මඟ පෙන්වීම යටතේ ක්රියාත්මක වන මෙම නිවාස ව්යාපෘතිය, බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් ප්රභාත් අබේවර්ධන මහතාගේ උපදෙස් පරිදි හාලි ඇල ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම් කාර්යාලයේ අධීක්ෂණය යටතේ සිදු කෙරේ.
හාලි ඇල ප්රාදේශීය සභාවේ උප සභාපති සහ අනෙකුත් සාමාජිකයින් වන හාලි ඇල ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම් චමින්ද විරසිංහ, බදුල්ල සහකාර දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් සජිත් නාමල් සහ ආරාධිත අමුත්තන් සහ නිවාස ප්රතිලාභීන් පිරිසක් මුල්ගල් තැබීමේ උත්සවයට සහභාගී වූහ.

“ප්රජා ශක්ති” ග්රාම සංවර්ධන කමිටු නිර්මාණය කර ගැනීමේදී එහි සභාපති ධූරය ප්රාදේශීය සම්බන්ධීකරණ කමිටු සභාපති වෙත හිමි වන අතර කොට්ඨාසයේ ආර්ථික සංවර්ධන නිලධාරී, ග්රාම නිලධාරී, කෘෂිකර්ම පර්යේෂණ නිලධාරී, සමෘද්ධි නිලධාරි ඇතුළු තවත් ප්රජා නියෝජිතයින් පහළොස්දෙනෙකුගෙන් සමන්විත විය යුතු බවත් ඒ පිළිබඳ තොරතුරු කඩිනමින් ලබා දිය යුතු බවත් ඉදිරියේදී සංවර්ධන කටයුතු යි සිදු කෙරෙනුයේ මෙම ප්රජා කමිටු හරහා බැවින් ශක්තිමත්ව කමිටු පත් කරගත යුතු බව දිස්ත්රික් සංවර්ධන කමිටු සභාපති, වැවිලි හා ප්රජා යටිතල පහසුකම් අමාත්ය, සමන්ත විද්යාරත්න මහතා ඊයේ (15) දින බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් කාර්යාලයීය ශ්රවණාගාරයේදී පැවති බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික් සම්බන්ධීකරණ කමිටුව රැස්වීම අමතමින් ප්රකාශ කළේය.
දියුණු සමාජ ක්රමයක් ඇති කිරීමේ අරමුණ පෙරදැරිව ක්රියාත්මක කළ ක්ලීන් ශ්රී ලංකා ව්යාපෘතිය යටතේ හාලිඇල ජල රක්ෂිතය ආරක්ෂා කිරීමේ ව්යාපෘතිය මේ වන විට සිදු කෙරෙමින් පවතින බවත්, ප්රජා ශක්තිය දිළිඳු බව තුරන් කිරීමේ ව්යාපෘතිය ක්රියාත්මක කිරීම සඳහා නිලධාරින් පුහුණු කිරීම හා නිලධාරීන් අනුයුක්ත කිරීම් මේ වන විට සිදු කරන බව දිස්ත්රික් ලේකම් ප්රභාත් අබේවර්ධන මහතා පැවසීය.
බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික්කයේ අධි නායයාම් අවදානම් සහිත නිවාස පන්දහස් හැට හතක් (5067) පවතින බව ගොඩනැගිලි පර්යේෂණ සංවිධානය විසින් දැන්වීය.
වැවිලි හා ප්රජා යටිතල පහසුකම් අමාත්යාංශයේ ප්රතිපාදන මගින් ක්රියාත්මක දඹේතැන්න නිවාස 65,බණ්ඩාරවෙල නායබැද්ද නිවාස 11 හල්දුම්මුල්ල කොස්ලන්දවත්ත නිවාස 27,හල්දුම්මුල්ල මල්වන් කොටස නිවාස 23, බදුල්ල වේවැස්ස නිවාස 18, බදුල්ල තෙල්බැද්ද නිවාස 12, පස්සර කනවැරැල්ල නිවාස 12, ලුණුගල හෝප්ටන් නිවාස 05, වැලිමඩ බෝවවත්ත නිවාස 19 ක් ඉදිකිරීමේ ව්යාපෘතීන් සඳහා අනුමැතිය ලබා දුනි.
චෙන්කල්අඩි මාර්ගයේ බදුල්ල බිබිල මාර්ග සංවර්ධන ව්යාපෘතිය යටතේ මාර්ග ඉවුරු ආරක්ෂණ ව්යාපෘතිය හඳුන්වාදීමේ වැඩසටහන ක්රියාත්මක කෙරෙන අතර, පස්සර දහතුනේ කණුව ප්රදේශයේ නාය යෑමට ලක්වන මාර්ගයේ ඉහළ බැම්ම ආරක්ෂිත ක්රමවේදයන්ට සකස් කිරීමේ කටයුතු ලබන වසර තුළ සිදුකෙරෙන බවද ප්රකාශ කෙරිණි.
පුර නැගුම වැඩසටහන යටතේ බණ්ඩාරවෙල ප්රාදේශීය සභාව මගින් හීල් ඔය දුම්රිය දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව සතු ඉඩමක ඉදිකළ ගොඩනැගිල්ල ඵලදායීව යොදා ගැනීමට අවශ්ය කටයුතු සලසා දීමට දුම්රිය දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව මෙහිදී එකඟ විය.
මහියංගනය කොට්ඨාසයේ පවතින දැඩි අවශ්යතාවය සහ අවදානම හේතු කොටගෙන ගිනිවීමේ ඒකකයක් ස්ථාපිත කිරීමට සුදුසු බව ආපදා කළමනාකරන නියෝජ්ය අධයක්ෂවරයා යෝජනා කළ අතර උක්ත කරුණ පිළිබඳව ඉදිරියේදී කටයුතු කරන බවද මෙහිදී ප්රකාශ කෙරිණි.
බදුල්ල ශික්ෂණ රෝහල, ඌරණිය රෝහල හා මහියංගන රෝහලේ පවතින ගැටලු පිළිබඳවද මෙහිදී සාකච්ඡා කෙරිණි.
උණ ගොල්ල පතන ජල රක්ෂිතයේ පවත්වාගෙන යන ගල් ඇඹරුම්හල මගින් පරිසරයට සිදුවන හානිය හේතුවෙන් එහි වැඩ කටයුතු නතර කිරීමට වහාම නීතිය ක්රියාත්මක කළ යුතු බව තීරණය කෙරිණි.
මීට අමතරව ඉඩම් සංවර්ධන කටයුතු, මහා මාර්ග සංවර්ධන ව්යාපෘති, නගර සංවර්ධන ව්යාපෘති,අධ්යාපන, සෞඛ්ය වැනි අංශවල පවතින විවිධ ගැටලු සහ අඩුපාඩු පිළිබඳව අදාල පාර්ශව එක්ව අදාල තත්වයන් වලට ගත හැකි ක්රියාමාර්ග ගැනීමේ අවශ්යතාවය පිළිබඳව මෙහිදී සාකච්ඡා කෙරිණි.
නීති විරෝධී මත්ද්රව්ය සුලභවීමත් තරුණ පිරිස ඒ සඳහා ආකර්ෂණය වීමත් නිසා සමාජයේ සිදුවන පරිහානි ස්වභාවය වළක්වාලීමට පොලිස් වැටලීම් හා විමර්ශනයන් දිගින් දිගටම සිදුවන බැවින් ඒ සඳහා සහය ලබා දියයුතු බවත් සමන්ත විද්යාරත්න අමාත්යවරයා පැවසීය.
බදුල්ල දිස්ත්රික් පාර්ලිමේන්තු නියෝජ්ය අමාත්යවරුන් වන මහාචාර්ය රුවන් රණසිංහ, දිනිඳු සමන් හෙන්නායක, පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්රීවරුන් වන සුදත් බලගල්ල, රවින්ද්ර අරුණ බංඩාර, අම්බිගා සැමුවෙල්, චාමර සම්පත් දසනායක, ඌව පළාත් ආණ්ඩුකාර නීතිඥ කපිල ජයසේකර, දිස්ත්රික්කයේ දේශපාලන අධිකාරිය, ඌව පළාත් ප්රධාන ලේකම්, ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම්වරුන්, ආයතන ප්රධානීන් ඇතුළු රාජ්ය නිලධාරින් පිරිසක් මෙම අවස්ථාවට සහභාගි විය.

The Ministry of Justice and National Integration and the Badulla District Secretariat jointly organized an entertaining program using stories and songs for the children of the orphanages of the Badulla Divisional Secretariat on 15.07.2025 at the Badulla District Secretariat Auditorium under the patronage of Additional District Secretary Mrs. Nilanthi Samarawickrama.
The resource person for this program was Ms. Desika Priyangwada Godage, a teacher advisor on drama and theatre in the Nivitigala region, an experienced dramatist. The event was attended by the Administrative Officer of the Badulla District Secretary's Office, the District Child Rights Promotion Officer, the Child Rights Promotion Officer of the Divisional Secretariat, the National Integration Officer and other government officials as well as members representing co-operative societies.
This entertaining program was implemented with the funds of the Ministry of Justice and National Integration and was supported by World Vision and Serendib Flour Mills. This program was organized by the National Integration Coordinator of the District Secretariat, Ms. E.A. Nadeera Edirisinghe.

A two-day training program for Graduate Entrepreneurship Udanaya, organized by the National Enterprise Development Authority and the Career Guidance Division of Uva Wellassa University with the aim of making university students entrepreneurs, was held at the Uva Wellassa University campus recently.
Here, university students are provided with practical training to develop the knowledge and skills required to become entrepreneurs, prepare a business plan, and the students who prepare the best business plans are selected and given a financial assistance of two hundred and fifty thousand (250,000.00) rupees.
The resources for this program are provided by the Enterprise Development Officer of the Rideemaliyadda Divisional Secretariat and the Enterprise Development Officer of the Ella Divisional Secretariat.
The Vice Chancellor of Uva Wellassa University, Professor Kolitha B. Wijesekera, Director of the Career Guidance Division, Dr. Gayan Amarasuriya, Deans of all faculties, the Badulla District Coordinator of the National Enterprise Development Authority, Enterprise Development Officers of all Divisional Secretariats in the Badulla District and sixty (60) first, second and third year students of Uva Wellassa University participated in this program.

A program to sensitize Deputy Census Commissioners, Assistant Census Commissioners and Quartermasters regarding the Economic Census 2025/26 (Agricultural Affairs) was held at the Badulla District Secretariat Auditorium this morning (01) under the patronage of Badulla District Secretary Prabath Abeywardena.
The field work of the Agricultural Census is planned to commence in September 2025 and information is to be collected based on the Grama Niladhari Divisions covering the entire island.
Census information will be collected by going into the relevant fields and conducting interviews with the farming community through questionnaires, while tablet computers and CAT technology will also be used to collect this information. The census is scheduled to take place on agricultural data such as the size of cultivated land, crops grown, animal husbandry, agricultural machinery and equipment, number of farmers, uncultivated lands, permanent and short-term crops, use of pesticides, etc.

Preliminary discussion on organizing a joint literary festival in conjunction with the upcoming Literature Month - Badulla

A special discussion on holding a joint literary festival in conjunction with the Literature Month and its preliminary preparations was held today (30) at the District Secretariat premises under the patronage of District Secretary Prabath Abeywardena and Badulla Municipal Council Mayor Nandana Hapugoda Mahata.
Attention was drawn to the literary programs being implemented in the district for the upcoming Literature and Reading Month and how to organize them, the necessary infrastructure, other facilities and funds for that.
Also, the importance of coordination between institutions in organizing these programs, the use of new technologies, the use of Sokari, street drama, photography exhibitions, traditional folk art cultures and Tamil literature, and cultures unique to various religions were emphasized.
A group of officials representing institutions such as education, health, local government institutions, district secretariat, divisional secretariat, security forces, non-governmental organizations participated in this discussion.

A District Job Fair Program jointly organized by the Department of Manpower and Employment and the Badulla District Secretariat was held at the Badulla District Secretariat on the 26th.
18 employment agencies and 07 vocational training and vocational education institutions participated in this program and about 290 job seekers participated.
The guidance for this program was provided by the Badulla District Secretary, Mr. Prabath Abeywardena and the Director General of the Department of Manpower and Employment and the program was organized by the Badulla District Employment Center.

A special progress review meeting of the Poonagala Housing Project, which is being implemented in the Badulla District under the Disaster Victim Resettlement Program, was held at the Punagala project site on the afternoon of (28). The meeting, chaired by the Minister of Plantations and Community Infrastructure, Mr. Samantha Vidyarathna, discussed the current status of housing construction, procurement of raw materials, land allocation and subdivision, obtaining and implementing recommendations from the Building Research Institute, obtaining approvals from the Pradeshiya Sabha, provision of infrastructure facilities including internal roads, water and electricity, preparation of survey plans and project expenses, etc. Minister Samantha Vidyaratne emphasized the need to resolve the practical issues in implementing the project, complete the construction work expeditiously and provide houses to the beneficiaries. The political authority of Badulla District including Members of Parliament, officials of the District Secretariat including the Badulla District Secretary, officials of the Ministry of Disaster Management and the Ministry of Plantations and Community Infrastructure, and a group of officials of public and private institutions directly contributing to the project participated in this discussion.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Mr. Prasanna Ranatunga informed the district coordination committee today about the program implemented at the district level under the 10 Special Rural Development Program in conjunction with the "Kandukara Dasakaya 2024 - 2023" economic program based on the concept of the President. The minister said that this money will be used only for projects that can be completed by 31st of July and that an amount of one lakh thousand rupees will be given to one divisional secretariat and under this, 544 domains out of 567 domains in Badulla district will receive allocations. Under this, the program is to be implemented covering all the 15 divisional secretariat divisions of Badulla district, the minister further mentioned.
The Minister of Transport, Highways and Mass Media, Dr. Bandula Gunawardena pointed out that there are many roads to be repaired in the Badulla district, giving priority to the development of rural roads and further discussed the problems and needs related to the transport services operated by the Sri Lanka Transport Board in the district.

President Ranil Wickramasinghe said that hunger does not have any party color and as a strong country, everyone should come together to make the food security program a success in order to face future food shortages.
The President mentioned this while joining the Badulla district program of the multi-sector integrated mechanism for empowering rural economic revival centers to ensure food security and nutrition on 19/12/2022.

I would like to thank everyone for their comments on how the Food Security Program is working in Badulla District. We started the food security program at a time when there was a shortage of fertilizers and fuel in the country and when no country gives us credit.
There is a possibility of food shortage in 2023. We started the Food Security Program to address that. I suggest that a review of the implementation of this program should be done in each Divisional Secretariat. Here you can get new data. Accordingly, we are formally advancing the food safety program.
This program will not end after 2023. We will continue it. The local councils have representatives from the respective political parties. But we all have to implement this program together.
Somehow, we have been able to provide the required fertilizers to the farmers. With the success of this season, we will have a surplus of rice in the future. We have identified problems such as insufficient storage facilities that may arise there. We are also working to solve those problems. At the same time, we are also taking steps to set a control price for paddy.
Tourism in Badulla district can be developed. We are preparing the necessary program for that.
