A two-day training program for Graduate Entrepreneurship Udanaya, organized by the National Enterprise Development Authority and the Career Guidance Division of Uva Wellassa University with the aim of making university students entrepreneurs, was held at the Uva Wellassa University campus recently.
Here, university students are provided with practical training to develop the knowledge and skills required to become entrepreneurs, prepare a business plan, and the students who prepare the best business plans are selected and given a financial assistance of two hundred and fifty thousand (250,000.00) rupees.
The resources for this program are provided by the Enterprise Development Officer of the Rideemaliyadda Divisional Secretariat and the Enterprise Development Officer of the Ella Divisional Secretariat.
The Vice Chancellor of Uva Wellassa University, Professor Kolitha B. Wijesekera, Director of the Career Guidance Division, Dr. Gayan Amarasuriya, Deans of all faculties, the Badulla District Coordinator of the National Enterprise Development Authority, Enterprise Development Officers of all Divisional Secretariats in the Badulla District and sixty (60) first, second and third year students of Uva Wellassa University participated in this program.
